Disabilty Equality Training
Full Circle Arts strives to take positive action to promote and support actions throughout the arts that acknowledge and combat the multiple forms of discrimination that Disabled People face. ![[shadow theatre]](/pictures/shadow-theatre-2001.gif)
Whilst we seek to establish favourable conditions which Disabled People can explore and express the condition of disability through the arts, we recognise that Disabled People have few opportunities to participate fully as consumers, practitioners, in arts training and employment.
1 in 8 of the population in the UK is a Disabled Person yet only 1 in 5,000 people employed in the arts sector is Disabled. Disability EQUALITY Training is one of the services we offer to help to remove some of the barriers to the arts that Disabled People face.
Our Disability Equality Training is designed for arts organisations, local authority arts service providers and the voluntary sector. The training promotes the social model approach to disability, whereby society can make positive changes to enable Disabled People to participate on an equal level by removing barriers.
One of our staff members is licensed by the Disability Rights Commission to deliver training on The Disability Discrimination Act 1995. The DRC will only train and license individuals to deliver this training. Therefore if you want training specifically on the Disability Discrimination Act for your Board, Senior Managers or front-line staff you must ask for our licensed trainer. There are very few licensed trainers who all have training and use offical packs and materials.
