Description of artists work and experience

Jane Lim is a versatile artist based in the North-West, whose organisation and communication skills are excellent. Turning her back on a management career, she achieved a First Class Honours Degree in Visual Arts at the University of Bolton in 2005, followed by an MA in Public Art in 2007.

Jane uses a range of media, including watercolours and acrylics, ceramics and sculpture, selecting the most appropriate medium for her Public Art projects. A former social scientist, she particularly enjoys the opportunity to link her artwork with other disciplines such as Science or Socio-political themes, especially as thorough research inspires some interesting ideas. Jane is comfortable working with any age group and has experience running workshops with schools, community groups and in galleries. One current project with schools (Summer 2008) examines the work of scientist, Sir Harold Kroto. Another highlights awareness of breast cancer through watercolour.
