Description of artists work and experience

As a text based artist, a major focus of Aidans’ work is the linguistic and visual imagery we use to create and make sense of our own personal mythologies - our own stories - that we play out in the world. Whether using dust, parquet, paint or pixel to realize the work, Moesby utilises a variety of media, technologies and approaches.

From initial small scale text interventions his work has developed in scale and adopted an increasingly installational aesthetic. He has also diversified his practice into the audio-visual and Digital Media fields.

In 2008 he completed a 6 month professional development residency at Waygood Studios and Gallery in Newcastle culminating in an exhibition of a new body of work – ‘Drift’. Currently Aidan is undertaking a self directive residency at the Department of Psychiatry, Royal Victoria Infimary, Newcastle working with Affective Disorders and Eating Disorders.
